Why Moving Into A Brand New Townhome Is A Great Choice

Townhome living comes with plenty of advantages. You typically do not have to care for the outside of the building. You have lots of neighbors nearby, and townhome units typically have an upstairs and downstairs, so you have plenty of room to spread out. However, there are some unique advantages to moving into a brand new townhome community, rather than one that has been around for a while. Take a look.

1. New townhomes tend to be more soundproof.

Over the years, soundproof technology has improved. Soundproof wallboard today is more effective than the soundproof wallboard that was used 10 - 20 years ago. This is really important in a townhome community where residences typically share walls. In an older townhome community, you might be able to hear some sounds coming from the neighboring units. In the newest townhomes, though, you should not be able to hear a thing. You'll really appreciate this peace and quiet, and you'll also enjoy being able to make noise in your home without worrying about bothering the neighbors.

2. You are more likely to get your pick of homes.

If you are looking for a townhome in an established community, you might have your choice of a couple of different homes. But if you shop around in a brand new community, you'll have a lot more options. You can buy the home at the end of the block, one right by the pool, the one closest to the parking lot — whatever appeals to you. Different homes may sell at different price points, too, which gives you more flexibility in spending.

3. The amenities will be new.

There's nothing quite like swimming in a brand new pool or exercising on brand new gym equipment. Even if a townhouse community maintains its shared spaces well, using amenities that are 10 - 20 years old is just not as fun and breaking in new ones!

4. You may get to have the inside of the home customized.

When you buy in a townhome community, you don't get any say over the exterior of the home. But when you buy a brand new townhouse, you can sometimes make some choices about the interior. For example, you might be able to pick the paint color, choose between a few different layouts, and so forth. You don't typically get this control when you buy an existing townhouse.
